Knolly receives many letters each year inquiring about sponsorship. Please follow the guidelines below to assist your resume in receiving the attention it deserves, whether you are looking for athlete sponsorship, or sponsorship of an event.
Athlete Sponsorship
General Tips
Please submit your material no earlier than the official dates. Any resumes received before or after these dates will not be reviewed.
Official dates for submitting sponsorship applications: Mountain Bikers September 1- December 31
What your application should include:
- Resume
- A letter of reference from an established rider, photographer, production company, existing sponsor, teacher, coach, employer (including volunteer work)
- One or more action photo(s)
- One or more lifestyle photo(s)
- If you have been photographed or written about in a magazine or newspaper, include a COPY
- For mountain biking sponsorship: a 5-minute home video or DVD showcasing your skills. This is highly recommended or at least provide some links or information about projects you have participated in.
- Your Resume can be simple and should comprise the following 10 items:
- Name
- Birthdate
- Mailing Address
- Phone #
- Email Address
- Number of years you have been participating in your sport
- Other activities you participate in (including team sports, hobbies, musical or artistic abilities)
- Competitive goals you wish to achieve in your sport.
- A short paragraph on why you believe Knolly should sponsor you
- Basic outline of your competition results/ratings

Event & Contest Sponsorship
Please follow the guidelines below to assist your event or contest request in receiving proper attention.
General Tips
- Please submit your material six months prior to the event/series/camp start date. Any requests received before or after the six-month deadline will not be reviewed.
- The focus of event sponsorship should be based around mountain biking or a related subject of interest.
- What Knolly needs to know about your event
- Please include the following information with your written proposal:
- Location(s) of event or series
- Date(s) of event or series
- Approximate number of participants/competitors
- Description of classes/heats
- Approximate number of spectators
- Event marketing plan
- Specific sponsorship request
- Specific sponsor benefits
- Not-for-profit status, if applicable
- Board of Directors or Advisory Board members, if applicable
- Publicity samples (clips/tapes/CD rom) from previous year, if applicable
- Print samples (or photos of merchandise and signage) from previous year, if applicable
